Inspiring healthier communities by promoting regenerative agriculture and indigenous practices through shared immersive experiences.
Vision:
Holistic Roots envisions a world where communities are deeply connected to the land, fostering a sustainable and regenerative future. We strive to educate and empower individuals through immersive, experiential, and meaningful experiences that promote the health of our planet, food systems, and the diverse indigenous species that enrich them. Through holistic and full-circle initiatives, we aim to cultivate a harmonious relationship between people, nature, and the food they consume.
Goals:
Officially founded in 2023, Holistic Roots has been on the minds of founders Keira and Brian Farmer for years. We want to build stronger communities and a stronger connection with foods and farming through our agricultural and experiential programming. As a nonprofit organization, we will start with the essentials:
Begin a series of educational workshops at the farm, and off-site, related to agriculture, health, wellness, conservation, and sustainability.
Host awareness events to inform our community of our mission and spread the word about our work.
Develop a network of like-minded individuals and organizations.
Promote the restoration of the American Buffalo
Five-year plan:
Continuing to develop opportunities for the public to learn from, and enjoy Pitcher Mountain Farm.
Invest in our own fiscal independence.
Renovate the historic farmhouse on the property
Implementation of community events, multi-day workshops, summer service trips and semester schools.
